WellSpan York Health Foundation Celebrates Donors

WellSpan Health works together to support a non-profit mission of service—one patient, one community, one unique health care need at a time. WellSpan collaborates with community leaders, area residents, and other health care providers to ensure that inpatient, outpatient, home health, and physician services are located where they can do the most good for their neighbors.

WellSpan’s four community-based foundations work to improve the health of local communities by supporting the nonprofit and charitable endeavors of WellSpan Health.

The Challenge

The WellSpan York Health Foundation wanted to celebrate its $1,000+ donors and highlight accomplishments throughout 2020, focusing on three main initiatives: the employee giving campaign, the capital campaign for a new cancer center, and the COVID campaign. The impact report would highlight WellSpan’s accomplishments across the system-wide philanthropy team, be used to leverage large donors, and introduce new high-level giving societies. The WellSpan team wanted this report to embody a successful year despite challenges in a creative, slightly outside-the-box way.

The Solution

The Graphcom and WellSpan York Health Foundation teams collaborated to determine the specific audience, look, feel, and messaging for the impact report. With this knowledge, Graphcom designed a series of three comps that piqued the audience’s attention in a unique way while telling WellSpan’s compelling story. This tangible piece strictly adheres to the client’s branding standards. Through this collaboration, images were carefully chosen and content was fine-tuned. Graphcom now had the tools to begin creating.

The Results

The WellSpan team chose an option that drew attention and created emphasis with pops of color from their branded palette. Circular shapes enhance dynamic movement and geometric shapes help navigate the viewer through the report’s compelling content. To further enforce the theme of shapes, the 20-page booklet was designed and printed in an 11.5” x 11.5” square format and mailed in 12 x 12” square envelopes.

Together these components create an adaptable layout that navigates the audience through the ever-changing landscape of healthcare. It perfectly tells the WellSpan story, appeals to their audience, and prominently illustrates the client’s brand and philanthropic accomplishments. In addition, the impact report portrayed how the community benefited through their gifts to WellSpan’s cause. We also created a digital version to be sent via email, shared on social media, and posted on the foundation’s website. Over 400 donors and community leaders received a hard copy of the report.

What’s Next?

Graphcom is partnering with the WellSpan York Health Foundation to design, fabricate, and install graphics in the new WellSpan Cancer Center, slated to open in spring 2021. These graphics pay homage to the donors that made the center possible, aligning with a water theme that brings peace and tranquility to all who enter the cancer center’s doors.

An upcoming collaborative project includes the strategy, creation, and production of impactful new donor welcome packets. These packets will further tell the client’s story so new donors are inspired to continually support the community through the WellSpan York Health Foundation’s philanthropic initiatives.

“For the last three years, we have strived to create a framework to recognize and honor our donors. Graphcom helped us achieve this goal above and beyond our expectations. This impact report provided a perfect opportunity to showcase what our donors mean to us and the depth of the work of the WellSpan York Health Foundation. It was a pleasure to partner with Graphcom on this most important initiative for our donors.”
