Engaging Full-Service Videography
How MWPH Showcased Its Unique Services with Videography
Since 1922, Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital (MWPH) has been a mainstay in providing specialty pediatric care in the Baltimore community. The hospital offers both inpatient and outpatient services through more than 20 specialized clinics, studies, and programs. The place “where children go to heal and grow,” the hospital serves children with medically complex conditions, from birth to age 21.
The Challenge
When the hospital sought to create service line videos, they turned to Graphcom. MWPH needed our expertise to re-envision, redesign, redevelop, and, ultimately, reinvigorate these promotional videos. The “family of videos” would feature footage that highlighted important aspects of the hospital, patient and family stories, and details central to MWPH’s goals and objectives. The videos needed to be engaging, relevant, inspiring, and have a long shelf life.
The Solution
From concept to distribution, Graphcom produced 10 videos for MWPH: one overview video, one employee recruitment video, and eight service line videos for the Pediatric Complex Care Program, Feeding Disorder Program, Autism Assessment and Related Therapeutic Services, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Weigh Smart, the Sleep Center, the Center for Neonatal Transitional Care, and Psychology Services.
Graphcom provided creative for all videos, including storyboarding, script and copywriting, on-camera interviews, visual design, on-site creative direction, full videography services, post-production, and more. Our goal was to create powerful videos that tell a unique story in a compelling, visually-dynamic fashion. Each needed to appeal to many audiences, including patients and families, donors, prospective employees, and referring providers.
The Results
All videos were produced and completed by 2018. Each video features what’s special about MWPH, how MWPH impacts the lives of patients and their families, and why parents should trust their children’s health needs to MWPH. The videos are emotionally charged and moving, speak to the needs and worries of families involved, and rely on MWPH’s expertise and real families to tell the hospital’s story.
What’s Next?
Graphcom also wrote, designed, and printed 25 rack cards for inpatient and outpatient services at MWPH. These cards are on display at the hospital for visitors but also used as leave-behinds for parents, referring physicians, schools, government agencies, and more as the MWPH team is out and about in the community.
Graphcom has written, designed, and printed intake binders and booklets, assisted with several event marketing materials for MWPH’s annual Storybook Gala including a new logo and supporting collateral materials, and produced signage and new wall graphics in the cafeteria.
“We have been extremely pleased with the services provided by Graphcom. The firm and its staff collaborate in a true partnership model that allows our team to take advantage of the broad range of top-tier resources that Graphcom offers, while proactively monitoring and controlling costs.”
