Graphcom Creative Design Team Welcomes New Leaders
Exciting things are happening on our creative team!
In 2018, Graphcom will welcome two new leaders to our creative division, strengthening our design and marketing solutions in the new year. Beginning Jan. 1, current Art Director Jessica Dean will shift her role to part-time senior designer, allowing for two new art directors to assume leadership. Graphcom Senior Designer Jenna Zelkowski, along with West Coast native Trevor Karnofski, will serve in art director roles.
Zelkowski has been with Graphcom since 2012 and is the “mad genius” behind the illustrated style of Graphcom’s healthcare branding campaign, which launched in 2014 and brought clients like Einstein Healthcare Network and Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital into the Graphcom portfolio.
“She has that rare combination of raw talent coupled with the desire and ability to teach,” says Creative Director Kelly Brooks. “In her previous role, she emerged as a natural leader and will continue to be instrumental in coaching more junior team members.”
Karnofski will be moving from Tucson, Ariz., to join the Graphcom team. He graduated in the top 10 of his class from the Art Institute of Portland and has since worked on campaigns for clients such as Nike, Adidas, Lyft, Whole Foods, NFL, MLB, and NBA.
“Trevor brings some grade-A design skills, years of director experience, and an inspiring drive to mentor junior team members of our Graphcom family,” says Zelkowski, who together with Karnofski will set the vision and standards for exceptional creative design, inspire and manage the design team, and ensure that clients are receiving the best possible work. “I expect we will create beautiful work together that will bring our clients much success. 2018 will be an electrifying year!”
Dean, who has served as lead of the design team for more than eight years, will move to a part-time role, designing Graphcom marketing materials and bringing in-house learning opportunities to the team. When she’s not at Graphcom, Dean will devote more time to her family and her business, Celebrate Gettysburg magazine.
In the years since becoming a founding member of Graphcom’s creative division, Dean has seen the division’s size increase fivefold; Graphcom has repositioned itself as a marketing firm for education, healthcare, and nonprofits; and the company has won numerous awards under her art direction.
“Jess has been an absolutely critical part of building the growing creative team that we have today,” says Brooks. “As one of the original members of the team, she was instrumental in building the processes that guide us today…I truly admire her spirit and enthusiasm for great work. It’s infectious, and I’m grateful that she’s chosen to share it with all of us.”
